Nowadays a graphic designer can be referred to various
professions which even may seem to be the same, though every of them
needs the additional skills. Thus, you can choose among Art Production
Manager, Layout artist, Interface Designer, Multimedia Developer, Logo
Designer, Art Director or Creative Director. Some of these professions
are connected with administrative work, others require only
understanding of technology and ability to create really attractive and
easy-to-use site.
But website designer, on the whole, is not a person who creates cool
sites with excellent graphics. It is necessary to meet requirements of
a client, make the site easy-to-find for a search engine, to be able to
work in team and just to keep up-to-date with the latest news in the
world of design software. So, it can be asserted that web designers
need not only to create a site, but also to develop and promote it. In
other words, to learn some basic rules of marketing.
But what does it mean "user-friendly"? For example, if you create a
page which contains text, it is very important to pay attention that a
reader will not get tired during long term reading. On the whole, all
the photos, images and titles should be arranged in such a way that is
pleasing to the eye. Colors as well as text formating is also very
important in this case. So, graphic designer job involves skills in
computer graphics, technical understanding and realizing the things
which draw visitors to the site.
